Part-time Mental Health Practitioner: Arbor Heights Mental Health Clinic. Individual, couple, and family therapy. Includes play Therapy with children and working with child's school. High percentage of clients suffer from Post traumatic Stress Disorder, and/ or are Victims of domestic violence. Work well with those with personality Disorders.

Protective Service Worker: Nebraska Department of Social Services. Papillion office. Served as a case worker for children in foster care or State wards at home. I worked closely with Juvenile Court and various Community agencies. Caseload consisted of highly dysfunctional families with either chemical dependency and/or psychiatric illness. Caseload required a great deal of crisis intervention, counseling by myself, as well as closely working with the primary therapist and schools. Supervision of practicum students. Also did home studies.

Part-time Instructor, Sociology and Human Services: Metropolitan Technical Community College, Omaha, Nebraska. Taught Sociology, Human Services, Psychology and Chemical Dependency Counseling to Junior College Students.

Adjunct Instructor: Bellevue College. Taught the introductory Psychology course twice.


11-78 to 06-30-82

Clinical Social Worker: University of Nebraska Medical Center, 42nd and Dewey Avenue, Omaha. Nebraska. Duties included Psycho-social diagnostic assessment, parent education, short-term counseling, referral, and collaboration with community Agencies, and community education through presentation of Workshops or in-service training; work with students of various Disciplines. This position also includes serving as part of the Behavioral Pediatric Team, and the Cleft Lip and Palette Team. Over 70% of patient load were from minority groups.


12-80 to 06-30-82

Coordinator, Child Protective Team: In addition to the duties of clinical social worker, I coordinated the various workshops Presented by CPT on child abuse. Supervisory duties included Arranging for a monthly in service, providing direct supervision and consultation to new members of the team, and chairing the weekly meetings. Direct work with abusive families included Assessment, crisis intervention, referral, and some Court testimony. In addition, I prepared the annual reports and worked with hospital administration on revising policies and procedures of the team. I also supervised social work students.

Instructor, Social Science: Iowa Western Community College, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Taught social work courses to students in Community Service Program, and taught Economics to the Voc-Tech students. Helped arrange field placement for students. Taught introductory sociology to arts and science students.

Psychiatric Social Worker: Nebraska Psychiatric Institute. Assignment was to adult inpatient unit where the duties included assessment of patient and family, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, informal teaching of students in various disciplines, liaison with community agencies, and practicum Instructor for social work and guidance counseling students from University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Psychological Tester: Psychological Services, Omaha Public Schools, Omaha, Nebraska. Duties included giving Psychological Screening Tests, primarily to Head Start and Kindergarten children. In addition, I gave screening tests under Title I Reading Clinic and Wrote appropriate assessments.
